To calculate the cost of running our heating system we have taken an example of a 19m² (62.3 square feet) conservatory where in a usual installation we would supply 3.Okw of heat. This would be more than sufficient to maintain an even temperature of 20°C (68°F), which we consider to be a comfortable temperature. The normal running consumption would be between 60% and 70% of full power due to the heating being thermostatically controlled. We would also expect the heating to be used on average 8 hours per day.
